2000-D 25¢ VA WDDO-001

Description:  Doubling shows on the underside of Washington’s earlobe.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A strong die gouge runs SW from the profile just below the nose.  Numerous die scratches run SW from the face from below the nose to the chin.  Die scratches run WSW from the neck to the right of the Y in LIBERTY.  A die crack runs WSW from the bottom of the J in the designer’s initials.  Reverse:  A die scratch runs from NW to SE through the lower part of the rear mast on the main ship.  A die scratch runs NW from the upper left rear sail on the main ship.
