1928-D 1¢ WDDO-001

Description:  An extra eyelid shows to the east of the main eyelid.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  The mint mark is a repunched mint mark listed in the Wexler RPM Files as 1928-D 1¢ WRPM-001.  It is a very nice D/D South.  A die gouge (dot) shows in the field just to the east of Lincoln’s bowtie.  Another die gouge (dot) shows to the right of the right leg of the R in LIBERTY.  A long die scratch runs parallel to the upper part of the center fold in Lincoln’s vest.  Reverse:  A strong die scratch extends NW from the upper left O in OF.  A die gouge shows just to the left of the lower second U in UNUM.  A die scratch runs parallel to the lower left T of CENT.

1928-D 1¢ WDDO-002

Description:  An extra eyelid shows to the south of the main eyelid.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Two parallel die scratches run SW/NE in Lincoln’s vest south of the one in the date.  Die gouges can be found at the rim above GOD.  Reverse:  None significant.

Description:  An extra eyelid shows to the south of the main eyelid.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  VLDS.  An earlier die state may reveal some markers.  Reverse:  VLDS.  An earlier die state may reveal some markers.

1928-D 1¢ WDDR-001

Description:  Class VI extra thickness shows on all letters of EPU, both dots, both wheat ears, and the right wheat stem.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  No significant markers were detected but higher grade coins may reveal some die markers for the obverse.  Reverse:  No significant markers were detected but higher grade coins may reveal some die markers for the reverse.
