Description:  An extra eyelid can be found below the normal eyelid.

Die Markers:  Obverse Stage A:  Parallel die scratches run NNE from the top of the B in LIBERTY.  Parallel die scratches run NE from the top of the 9 in the date.  Obverse Stage B:  LDS.  The Stage A die markers are no longer visible.  Reverse Stage A:  A small die gouge (dot) can be found next to the lower right N in ONE.  A die break can be found on the upper E in ONE.  A die break can be found on the lower T in CENT.  A die crack runs through the lower right wheat kernels in the right wheat stalk.  Reverse Stage B:  New reverse die.  VLDS.  A die crack runs down the T in CENT.

1954-D 1¢ WDDO-002          "Best Of" Variety

Description:  A Class V CCW spread from a pivot at about 7:00 shows on TRUST.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A strong die gouge can be found at the rim just to the left of the designer’s initials.  Three parallel die scratches run WNW/ESE between the tops of the T and R in TRUST.  Reverse:  Die pitting can be found above the U in UNITED.

Description:  Doubling shows under the left side of the horizontal bar of the 4 in the date.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die scratch runs NNE from the top of the chin.  A SW/NE die scratch can be found between the lower 9 and 5 in the date.  Reverse:  A die scratch runs south from the bottom left of the N in UNITED through the O in OF.  Numerous SW/NE die scratches run through the E PLU in E PLURIBUS.

Description:  Tripled eyelid.  Two extra eyelids can be found below the normal eyelid.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A strong die clash can be found to the right of the throat.  SW/NE die scratches can be found to the left of the bust.  Reverse:  A strong die clash can be found between the lower C and E in CENT.  A die scratch runs parallel to the rim throughout most of the reverse.
