1939-D 50¢ WDDO-001

Description:  A Class V CW spread from a pivot at about 9:00 o'clock shows doubling on IGWT, the BERTY of LIBERTY, the stars, the flag below the B of LIBERTY, the leaves and acorns below the R of LIBERTY, the 3 of the date, the collar of the gown and the left shoulder.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  E/W die scratch across the top of the 939 of the date.  Reverse:  N/S die scratches toward the tip of the center left-hand wing feather.  N/S die scratch between the pine needles adjacent to the center left-hand wing feather.  Die chips on the two lower left-hand wing feathers.

1939-D 50¢ WDDO-002

Description:  A Class V CCW spread from a pivot at about 7:00 shows doubling on the date, the fingers, LIBERTY and the lower gown and lines above the right shoe.  A third CCW hubbing from about the same position shows tripling on the collar of the gown, the upper elements of the gown, the ERT of LIBERTY, the nose, the hair, leaves and acorns below the R of LIBERTY, the curls of the flag below the I and B of LIBERTY, the stars behind the head, the right shoe, and IGWT.  Quadrupling appears on some of the leaves and branches below the R of LIBERTY.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Die scratch from the D of GOD north to the Y of LIBERTY.  Die scratch east from the right lower side of the vertical bar of the L in LIBERTY.  Reverse:  Die scratch NNW from the left side of the first U in UNUM through the left upper side of the E in EPU.
