Description:  A CCW spread from a pivot at about 7:00 shows on the TY of LIBERTY, the hair at the top of the head, and the hair on the back of the head.  Slight doubling shows on the bottom of the one in the date.

Description:  A CW spread from a pivot at 4:00 shows on LIBERTY, IGWT, the designer’s initials, and the hair at the top of the head.

Die Markers:  Obverse: None significant.  Reverse:  The reverse is a minor doubled die listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1963 10¢ Pr WDDR-004.  A Class I CW spread shows as notches on the upper letters of USA and the lower letters of ONE DIME.  Light doubling also shows on E PLU.  A die gouge can be found on the upper left E in DIME.

1963 10¢ WDDO-005          “Best Of” Variety

Description:  A very strong spread towards the center shows on the date, designer's initials, IGWT, LIBE of LIBERTY, the bust and the uppermost back of the head.  The last T of TRUST is tripled CW from a pivot at 12:00.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die scratch with a close upper fork runs SSW from the eyelid along the nose.  Light, dense NNE die scratches in the field run from the center of the nose and along the upper profile.  Series of SSW die scratches from the bottom of the nose to the lips.  Many die scratches running through IGWT with a strong SSW scratch from the right leg of the R in TRUST.  Reverse: Light die scratch from the left lower oak leaf running SSW through the lower acorn, second U of PLURIBUS, the torch base and to the D of DIME.  Light die scratch from the M of AMERICA through right upper and lower oak leaves, through the second U in UNUM and to the M of DIME.

1963 10¢ Pr WDDO-006

Description:  Doubling shows on the designer’s initials and the hair on the lower back of the head.

1963 10¢ WDDO-007          “Best Of” Variety

Description:  A medium spread toward the center shows on IGWT, the date and the designer's initials. Very light notches shows on LIBERTY.  The designer's initials are at least tripled.

Die Markers:  Obverse Stage A: A very light NNW/SSE die crack starting to form in the hair toward the back of the head.  Short N/S die scratch below the R of TRUST.  Obverse Stage B: Die crack is now larger and breaks to the east at the bottom and runs to the back of the head.  A new NW/SE die crack intersects the previous crack at the top.  Stage A scratch is gone.  A scratch running SSW is located between the lower area of the O and D of GOD.  Reverse Stage A: Large die chip on the right upper olive leaf.  NE/SW die gouge through the top of the right vertical bar of the U in UNITED.  NW/SE die scratch centered inside the U of UNITED.  Reverse Stage C: A die crack forms at the right hand side of the die chip on the olive leaf.  Series of die scratches NNW from the right upper olive leaves.

1963 10¢ WDDO-008

Description:  A spread towards the center shows on the date, the hair lines on the lower back of the head, and the designer's initials.

Die Markers:  Obverse Stage A: Strong scratch south from the S of the designer's initials.  Obverse Stage B: Large die chip on the nose above the nostril.  Reverse Stage A:  The reverse is a doubled die listed in the Wexler Doubled Die files as 1963 10¢ WDDR-025.  A strong CCW spread from a pivot at 2:00 shows strong on UNITED and E PLU of EPU.  Lighter doubling shows on STATES, ONE DIME, and the dots.  Series of NE/SW die scratches above the US of PLURIBUS.  Fan shaped die scratches below the US of PLURIBUS.  Die scratch SSW from the left lower acorn through the US of PLURIBUS.  Die scratch NE from the lower olive to the stem of the left lower leaves.  Reverse Stage B:  Die gouge at the left upper side of the A in STATES.  Die gouge in the field located between the IC of AMERICA and closer to the rim.  All die scratches at the US of PLURIBUS are gone except for the SSW scratch that now runs only through the US of PLURIBUS.

Description:  A partial second hubbing shows on the lower letters of LIBER of LIBERTY and IGWT appears mushy.

Die Markers: Obverse: Short, thick, N/S die scratch in the field, slightly above left center from the L in LIBERTY.   Die scratch south from the lower center of the B in LIBERTY.   Reverse:  Many short N/S die gouges below the first A in AMERICA.  Die chip (dot) between the lower area of the D and I of DIME.  Two significant die gouges on the bottom of the I of DIME.

Description:  A spread towards the center shows on STATES OF.  A medium spread CCW from a pivot at about 2:00 shows on UNITED, E PLU of EPU, ONE DIME, stem of the lower olive, the olive branch toward the top leaf, stems of the olive leaves and the stem of the olive branch.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Die scratch south of the second T in TRUST, closer to the rim.  Reverse:  Light die scratch NNW from the L of PLURIBUS to the lower olive and turning NW to the left lower olive leaf.

Strong E/W die scratch through the right side of the Y in LIBERTY. Long N/S die scratches on the cheek and neck. Numerous other die scratches can be found throughout the obverse.  Reverse: A short vertical die gouge can be found to the left of the upper T of UNITED. Several horizontal die scratches run through the upper E PLU. Numerous strong N/S die scratches can be found throughout the reverse.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Series of die scratches behind the neck in many different directions.  Die scratch from the 1 in the date NNE to the bust.  Two heavy NNE die scratches in front of the forehead.  Reverse:  Short die gouge SW from about center of the underside of the lower bar of the E in STATES.  Long die scratch SW from the D in DIME to the rim.
