1936 25¢ WDDO-001          “Best Of” Variety

Description:  A major Class I CW spread shows on IGWT, LIBERTY, the date, and the eyelid.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Die scratch east from the bottom of the B in LIBERTY.  Horizontal die crack through the upper forehead into the hair.  Die crack along the base of the bust extending above the 1 in the date.  Reverse:  None noted.

1936 25¢ WDDO-002

Description:  A close spread towards the center shows on the date and the ribbon end.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Several die scratches run west to east inside the lower B in LIBERTY.  Several short die scratches run west from the upper left of the 3.  Reverse:  A die scratch curves NNW from the left leaf below the arrowheads to the arrowheads.  A rough pitted area can be found between the D in UNITED and the S in STATES.

Description:  A close spread towards the center shows on the lower part of the top of the 9.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Several die scratches curve NE from the upper right 6.  A die scratch runs SE from the top of the 6.  Reverse:  A die scratch runs ENE from the lower E in STATES.

Description:  A very close CCW spread shows on the date.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die scratch runs SE on the upper nose just below the eye.  Reverse:  Two parallel die scratches run NW from the upper arrow tips.  A die scratch runs WNW from the tail feathers below the right talon to the arrow shafts.

Description:  A spread towards the center shows on the 36 in the date and the bottom of the ribbon.  A higher grade specimen would most likely show more doubling.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A higher grade is needed to determine die markers.  Reverse:  A higher grade is needed to determine die markers.

Description:  Close tripling spread towards the center shows on the date and the bottom of the ribbon.  Close doubling spread towards the center shows on LIBERTY.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A short die scratch runs SE from the center right of the Y in LIBERTY.  Reverse:  A short die gouge runs NE from the lower right of the D in UNITED.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Three weak parallel die scratches run SW/NE below the I in LIBERTY.  Reverse:  A die scratch curves west from the second S in STATES.  A die scratch runs SW from the lower left of the first U in UNUM.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  An E/W die crack runs through the upper hair.  A die crack runs across the base of the bust.  Reverse:  A die crack runs down the eagle’s right wing.
