1945-S 25¢ WDDO-001          “Best Of” Variety

Description:  A spread to the north shows on IGWT and the bottom of the nose.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die crack runs east across the upper forehead and into the hair.  A die crack runs across the base of the bust.  Reverse:  A die crack runs down the eagle’s right wing.  A die crack runs from the s in PLURIBUS to the upper left wing.

1945-S 25¢ WDDO-002          “Best Of” Variety

Description:  A CCW spread shows on IGWT and the lower right TY of LIBERTY.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A short die scratch extends from the lower right of the R in TRUST.  A light die scratch runs SW from the upper left of the B in LIBERTY.  Reverse:  Several die scratches run south from the lower right wing tip.  Two die scratches run NE from the upper R in DOLLAR.

1945-S 25¢ WDDO-003          “Best Of” Variety

Description:  Extreme extra thickness shows on LIBERTY, IGWT, the date, and the lower queue.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die scratch runs NNE from the top of the first T in TRUST.  A short die scratch runs NNE from the upper right of the second T in TRUST.  Two parallel die scratches run SE from the upper right of the Y in LIBERTY.  Reverse:  None noted.

1945-S 25¢ WDDO-004

Description:  A CCW spread from a pivot at 7:00 shows on LIBERTY, the bottom of the ribbon, and slightly on IGWT.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Several circular die scratches run through the cheek.  A die crack runs from WSW to ENE through the top of the forehead and into the hair at the top of the head.  A die crack runs across the front of the base of the bust.  Reverse:  A die scratch runs ENE from the lower right I of UNITED.  Several die scratches run from SW to NE between the bottoms of the D in UNITED and the 1st S of STATES.  A die crack runs down the eagle’s right wing.

1945-S 25¢ WDDR-001          "Best Of" Variety

Description:  Doubling shows as a CW spread on QUARTER DOLLAR and the lower wreath details.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A short SW/NE die scratch runs from the upper nose to the left eye.  Reverse: The reverse is also an RPM variety that is listed in the Wexler RPM Files as 1945-S 25¢ WRPM-001.  It is an S/S Northeast.  A die gouge runs WNW/ESE through the lower D in DOLLAR.

1945-S 25¢ WDDR-002          “Best Of” Variety

Description:  A CW spread from a pivot at about 2:00 shows on QUARTER DOLLAR and the lower wreath details north of QUARTER.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  SW/NE die scratches can be found to the left of the nose.  Die scratches run south from IN and the TR in TRUST.  Reverse: Trumpet Tail S mint mark.  A N/S die scratch can be found to the left of the eagle’s head and neck.  Nearly vertical die scratches can be found to the left of the mint mark.  Numerous other die scratches can be found throughout the reverse.

1945-S 25¢ WDDR-003          “Best Of” Variety

Description:  A CW spread from a pivot at about 2:00 shows on QUARTER DOLLAR and the lower wreath details north of QUARTER.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Two die scratches run NNW from the bottom left of the R in LIBERTY.  Reverse: The reverse also has an Inverted Trumpet Tail S mint mark.  A small die gouge can be found to the left of the upper second T in STATES.

1945-S 25¢ WDDR-004

Description:  A spread to the west from a tilted hub can be found on STATES OF AMERICA, the branch ends, the right branch and lower right leaves, DOLLAR, and the letters of EPU with the strongest spread on the letters farthest to the right.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Four parallel die scratches run from north to south above the OD in GOD.  A vertical die scratch can be found to the left of Washington’s lips.  Two short, strong die gouges run west from the eyelid.  Numerous other die scratches can be found on the obverse.  Reverse:  The reverse has a strong repunched mint mark listed as 1945-S 25¢ WRPM-004.  It is a nice S/S North.  A strong die scratch runs south from the top right of the E in STATES.  Numerous other die scratches can be found throughout the reverse.
