1962 25¢ WDDO-001          “Best Of” Variety

Description:  Extreme extra thickness shows on IGWT, LIBERTY, the date, the designer’s initials, and the lower queue.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Die chips can be found between the six and the rim and between the two and the rim.  Two die scratches run NE from the upper right of the nine.  A die crack runs across the base of the bust.  Reverse:  None noted.

1962 25¢ WDDO-002

Description:  A CW spread from a pivot at about 1:00 shows on IGWT, the date, the designer’s initials, and the bottom of the ribbon.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die chip can be found between the two and the rim.  A die crack runs across the base of the bust.  Reverse:  A die crack runs down the eagle’s right wing.

1962 25¢ Pr WDDO-003          “Best Of” Variety

Description:  A strong spread towards the center shows on IGWT, LIBERTY, the date, the designer’s initials, and the bottom of the ribbon.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A small die gouge (dot) can be found between the lower W and E of WE.  Reverse:  A short vertical die gouge can be found between the lower E and R in AMERICA.

Description:  An extremely close spread towards the center shows on IGWT and the date.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A short die gouge extends NW from the upper left of the first T in TRUST.  A short die gouge runs NW from the center left of the B in LIBERTY.  Short die gouges run NW from the lower left of the T and the Y in LIBERTY.  Reverse:  A die crack runs down the eagle’s right wing.
