1925 $1 WDDO-001

Description:  Close doubling shows on the designer’s initials and on the 5 in the date.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A light die crack runs across the base of the bust.  Reverse:  The reverse is a doubled die listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1925 $1 WDDR-001.  A significant spread shows on the olive branch and leaves, the eagle’s talons, and the back feathers on the lower legs.  Heavy NE/SW die scratches run through USA and EPU.  A heavy diagonal die gouge runs from the top right of the first U in PLURIBUS to the O in ONE.

Description:  Very close doubling shows on the designer’s initials and the date.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Die scratches run SW/NE through TRUST.  Reverse:  The reverse is a doubled die listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1925 $1 WDDR-002.  Light doubling shows on the olive branch and leaves, DOLLAR, and the rays.  Two die gouges run through the right leg of the A in PEACE.  A small die gouge can be found inside the C of PEACE.

Description:  A significant spread shows on the olive branch and leaves, the eagle’s talons, and the back feathers on the lower legs.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  The obverse is a doubled die listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1925 $1 WDDO-001.  Close doubling shows on the designer’s initials and on the 5 in the date.  A light die crack runs across the base of the bust.  Reverse:  Heavy NE/SW die scratches run through USA and EPU.  A heavy diagonal die gouge runs from the top right of the first U in PLURIBUS to the O in ONE.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Heavy crisscross die polishing lines.  Reverse:  Heavy die polishing lines through PEACE with the strongest inside the C of PEACE.  A long die scratch runs from the first T in STATES to the left of the first U in EPU.
