1961-D 10¢ Hub Marker

Description: A north to south die scratch between the I and N in IN and a die gouge left of the center portion of the W in WE are present on multiple dies, so they cannot be used as die markers for attribution purposes.

Description: D/D Tilted (Rotated)

Die Markers: Obverse: None recorded. Reverse: Long die scratch beginning at the lower E of UNITED and running east under the D of UNITED. Die scratch from the first S in STATES to the left upper leaves. Die scratches from the U and T of UNITED to the left lower leaves.

Description: D/D West

Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Die scratch south near the lower outside of the left diagonal bar of the Y in LIBERTY. Obverse Stage B: Stage A marker abraded away. NNE/SSW die scratches left of the forehead. Reverse Stage A: Die chip (dot) above the left flame tip. Reverse Stage B: Stronger chip above the flame. X-shaped die scratch above the left olive leaf. Die scratches SSW from the bottom of the LU in PLURIBUS. NE/SW die scratches through the TA of STATES.

Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Die gouge in the field above the front of the hair. Small die gouges right of the lower area of the T in LIBERTY. Obverse Stage B: Stage A gouge above the hair abraded away. Stage A gouges at LIBERTY are weaker. Weak die scratch NE above the front of the hair. Reverse Stage A: Light N/S die scratch inside the upper opening of the S in PLURIBUS. Reverse Stage B: Stage A die scratch weaker.

Die Markers: Obverse: N/S die scratch connecting the nose and the lower lip. Reverse: Light die scratch that runs SSW from the lower left side of the last U in PLURIBUS and connects to the torch holder. Light die scratch south from the first U in UNUM slightly right of lower center. N/S die scratches left of the E in STATES. Die scratch south from the left upper side of the second T in STATES.

Die Markers: Obverse: NNE/SSW die scratch in the field positioned right of the top of the neck. NE die scratch from the upper right of the G in GOD. Reverse: Short die scratch running south from the lower right of the E in UNITED. Die scratch at the lower left side of the D in UNITED running NE through the D and into the field. Series of SSW die scratches from the lower right leaf of the olive branch.
