Description:  S/S South

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Die scratches in front of eye.  Small die gouge (dot) under nose.  Small die gouge (dot) right of lower second T in TRUST.  Roughly N to S and gently curving die scratches as well as multiple die gouges under RT in LIBERTY.  Reverse:  Die gouge under right side of second A in AMERICA.  Die scratch running north through first U in UNUM.  Die scratches running north through the middle of the upper Lincoln memorial under UNUM.  Die scratches running NEN through E in ONE and CE in CENT.

Description:  S/S North

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Mostly N to S die scratches through RTY in LIBERTY.  Small die gouge above T in LIBERTY.  Reverse:  Small die gouges left and right of lower O in ONE.  Small die gouge right of first T in STATES.  Die gouge left of lower O in OF.

Description:  S/S West

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Stage A: NW/SE die scratches at the upper inside area of the U in TRUST.  Light N to S die scratches in the fields in front of and behind Lincoln’s head. Stage B: Heavy die scratch NNW from the center of the nose.  Series of die scratches north from the nose and forehead.  Series of die scratches in different direction below the chin.  NW die scratch from the back of the collar.  Very light die crack centered in the head positioned below the W of WE.  Reverse:  Stage A:  First reverse.  Die gouge under E in STATES.  Die pitting left of upper second A in AMERICA.  Small die chip in upper T in CENT.  Die chips in upper bay 1.  WNW/ESE die scratches though the letters URIBU of PLURIBUS and NUM of UNUM.  Very weak designer’s initials.  Stage B:  Second reverse.  N/S die scratches between the left side roof and the D of UNITED.  NW die scratch from the left upper area of the N in ONE.  Die scratch ESE from the lower left leg of the R in AMERICA.  Die scratch north from the right cornice to the lower center of the M in AMERICA.
