Description:  Strong Class VI extra thickness shows on the date, especially the lower 9.  Extra thickness also shows on LIBERTY and to a lesser extent on IGWT.  A nice Class II separation line shows on the lower 9 in the date.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A small die gouge protrudes from the lower right side of the N of IN.  A die gouge can be found near the center of the nose.  Reverse:  A die scratch extends SE from the top right of the N in CENT.

Description:  A Class V CCW spread shows on the 944 in the date, on both T’s In TRUST, and as an extra eyelid just below the normal eyelid.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Circular die scratches run parallel to the rim throughout the obverse.  A die gouge protrudes from the front of the vest south of the 19 in the date.  Reverse:  Short die scratches run from NW to SE between the upper U and M in UNUM.  A die scratch runs from WSW to ENE below the ES in STATES.

Description:  A spread to the north shows on the TY in LIBERTY.  The 194 in the date is spread to the west.  A strong CW spread shows on the 2nd T in TRUST.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Numerous circular die scratches can be found on Lincoln’s neck.  Several die scratches run from SW to NE below IN GOD.  Reverse:  A die gouge protrudes from the bottom left of the 1st U in UNUM.  Two parallel die scratches run from WSW to ENE through the upper letters in OF.  A die scratch runs from west to east through the upper UNI of UNITED.

Description:  A strong extra eyelid shows south of the primary eyelid.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Die scratch runs roughly vertically through the extra eyelid and on the nose.  Multiple parallel die scratches run NNW/SSE through LIBERTY and left of the date. Reverse:  Bunched die scratches run vertically right of the left wheat to the first dot.

Description:  Doubling shows an extra eyelid south of the primary eyelid.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Die gouge above L in LIBERTY at the rim.  Die scratch running roughly vertically through left side of R in LIBERTY.  Die scratches run north from the forehead.  Die scratches run roughly vertically through IGWT.  Die scratch under ear. Reverse:  Slightly curving die scratches run roughly vertically inside C, E, and T in CENT.  Horizontal die scratches through RIBUS in PLURIBUS and the second dot.

Description:  Doubling shows on the bottom left side of the ear.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A strong die dent can be found between the bottom of the bust and the rim just to the right of the designer’s initials.  A weak die scratch runs from WNW to ESE through the lower OD of GOD.  A short die scratch runs NNW from the top right of the T in LIBERTY.  Circular lathe marks run parallel to the rim and are best seen below the bust and above IN GOD WE.  Reverse:  Two somewhat parallel die scratches run from WSW to ENE through the left wheat stem.  A short die scratch runs from SW to NE above the P in PLURIBUS.

Description:  A very wide spread to the west shows as a partial extra 9 between the 9 and the 4 in the date.  Another close spread shows on the 1 and the 9 also spread to the west.  An extra eyelid can be seen below the normal eyelid.  Doubling also shows on the first and the second T in TRUST.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Remnants of a die clash can be seen to the right of the throat.  Reverse:  A die gouge can be found below the right side of the C in CENT.

Description:  Strong Class VI extra thickness shows on EPU, the dots, both wheat ears, and both wheat stems.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A small die gouge protrudes from the shoulder SE of the Y in LIBERTY.  A die gouge can be found midway between the forehead and the S in TRUST.  A die gouge can be found just to the right of the center of the nose.  Reverse:  Two light, parallel die scratches run SE from the lower M in UNUM.  A die gouge touches the bottom center of the right wheat stem.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A small die gouge touches the top right of the E in LIBERTY.  A die gouge can be found to the left of the W in WE.  A short, vertical die scratch can be found to the right of the lower lip.  Reverse:  Parallel die scratches run from WSW to ENE in the lower O of ONE.  A die gouge can be found to the right of the center of the T in CENT.  A vertical die scratch can be found between the upper U and N of UNITED.  A die scratch runs SW from the bottom of the 2nd S in STATES.
