1930 1¢ WDDO-001

Description:  An extra eyelid can be seen just south of the main eyelid.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  The specimen examined was a lower grade (VF) coin.  Significant die markers could not be found on this specimen.  A higher grade specimen needs to be studied for possible die markers.  Reverse:  The specimen examined was a lower grade (VF) coin.  Significant die markers could not be found on this specimen.  A higher grade specimen needs to be studied for possible die markers.

1930 1¢ WDDO-002

Description:  An extra eyelid can be seen south of the main eyelid.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die gouge (dot) shows on the forehead below the hairline.  Reverse:  A die scratch connects the upper center horizontal bar of the E in CENT to the bottom of the upper horizontal bar of the E.  A short die scratch extends from the tip of the lower left wheat stem.

Description:  A weak extra eyelid can be seen just south of the main eyelid.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die scratch runs SW to NE to the left of the back of the collar.  A die scratch extends NE from the vest below the one in the date.  Another die scratch can be seen in the lower ear.  Reverse:  A die scratch runs SW to NE in the center of the C in CENT.  Another die scratch runs NE from the upper right second T of STATES.  A strong die scratch extends NNW from the left side of the E in UNITED.  Another die scratch runs from the center of the top of the T in CENT to the lower right E of ONE.  A die scratch runs NW from the lower right E of UNITED.

1930 1¢ WDDO-004 

Description:  A doubled eyelid shows to the south of the normal eyelid.  

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Parallel, diagonal die scratches run from the front of Lincoln’s jacket towards the 3 in the date.  A series of diagonal die scratches run towards the rim above IN.  Diagonal die scratches run towards the rim between the upper D in GOD and the W in WE.  Reverse:  A series of diagonal die scratches run through the letters U and M in UNUM.  A die gouge (dot) shows below the left arm of the N in ONE.  A die gouge (dot) shows in the field NW of the C in CENT.  A light, vertical die scratch shows inside C in CENT.  A die scratch runs about north from each arm of the U in UNITED.  A die gouge (dot) shows between the letters A and T in STATES.  Light, vertical die scratches run through the last S in STATES.  A die gouge (dot) shows equally spaced above and between OF.  A light die scratch runs south from the lower left arm of the first A in AMERICA.

1930 1¢ WDDR-001          "Best Of" Variety

Description:  Strong Class VI extra thickness shows on all letters of EPU, the dots, both wheat ears, and both wheat stems.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die crack runs across the base of the bust above the V.D.B. southwest to the rim at about 7:30.  Reverse:  Two parallel die scratches run from NNW to SSE to the left of the upper T in CENT.
