Description:  Extra hairlines can be found between Washington’s earlobe and the hair behind the earlobe.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A strong scratch runs NW/SE inside the upper U in UNITED.  Reverse:  None significant.

2001-D 25¢ RI WDDO-001

Description:  Doubling shows on the underside of Washington’s earlobe.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A small die gouge can be found between the upper I and C in AMERICA.  Reverse:  A short, vertical die gouge can be found just to the left of the top of the 2nd T in STATE.

Description:  Doubling shows on the underside of Washington’s earlobe.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  None significant.  Reverse:  A short die scratch extends SW from the bottom left of the N in OCEAN.
