Description:  A spread towards the center shows on the date.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  None significant.  Reverse:  A short E/W die gouge runs through the upper left of the U in UNITED.  A short die gouge runs SW from the upper left of the N in UNITED.

Description:  A spread towards the center shows on the date.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A vertical die scratch can be found to the left of the lower running down into the upper back of the nose.  Reverse:  A die scratch runs parallel to the rim above the UN in UNITED.  A short die gouge runs E/W below the left side of the E in ONE.

Description:  A spread towards the center shows on the date.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die scratch runs parallel to the rim throughout the obverse.  Several nearly vertical die scratches can be found on the nose.  Reverse:  A short die gouge runs east from the top left of the M in AMERICA.  A die scratch runs SE from the right side of the N in ONE to the rim.

Description:  A spread towards the center shows on the date.

Die Markers:  Obverse Stage A:  A short die scratch runs ENE from the lower back of the neck.  Obverse Stage B:  Same as Stage A.  Reverse Stage A:  A die gouge runs from west to east through the upper UNI in UNITED.  A die scratch runs from WNW to ESE through the upper AT in STATES.  Reverse Stage B:  New reverse die.  Numerous WSW to ENE die scratches through the UNI in UNITED.

Description:  A close spread towards the center shows on the date.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die scratch runs from NW to SE between the bottom of the chin and the D in GOD.  Reverse:  Short die scratches run from WNW to ESE between the bottom cords and the D in DIME and also between the D and I in DIME.

1939 10¢ Pr WDDO-006          "Best Of" Variety

Description:  Strong Class VI extra thickness shows on the date and the designer’s initials.  Extra thickness also shows on IGWT and slightly on LIBERTY.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Light rotational die scratches can be found on the neck and throughout the head.  A short, nearly horizontal die scratch can be found near the bottom of the neck.  Reverse:  Short, nearly vertical die scratches can be found below the 2nd A in AMERICA.

Description:  A spread towards the center shows on the date.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A small die gouge can be found below the right end of the horizontal crossbar of the T in LIBERTY.  A SSW/NNE die crack runs through the neck and well into the bonnet.  Reverse:  A die gouge can be found inside the U in UNITED.  A die scratch runs ESE from the lower right side of the fasces.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die gouge can be found to the left of the lower Y in LIBERTY.  A die crack runs from the rim to the left of the T in LIBERTY well into the bonnet.  Reverse:  A small die gouge can be found between the left star and the upper O in ONE.
