Obverse Varieties

1935-S 1¢ WDDO-001

Description:  Two extra eyelids can be seen SE of the normal eyelid.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Numerous die scratches run N/S above the date and to the left of the lower head.  Reverse:  A short die scratch runs SE from the top right of the second U in UNUM.

1935-S 1¢ WDDR-001

Description:  Extra thickness shows on EPU, both dots, as well as on both wheat ears and stems.

Die Markers:  Obverse Stage A:  Die scratch SSW from the lower left of the 9 in the date.  Short die gouge SE from the eyelid.  Obverse Stage B:  Stage A markers are very weak.  Reverse Stage A:  Die scratch ESE from the top of the E in EPU to the dot.  Die scratch SE from the lower right of the B in PLURIBUS to the second U in PLURIBUS.  Reverse Stage B:  Damaged die mark SW from the upper left of the E in EPU.
