1968-P,D,S 1¢ WWHO-001          Doubled Working Hub

Description:  A very slight CW spread shows on the LIBE of LIBERTY.  A spread towards the rim shows on IGWT.

Die Markers:  The obverse and reverse die markers will vary with each affected working die.

Comments:  Numerous working dies for all three Mints were created with this doubled working hub including S-Mint proof dies.












1968 1¢ WDDO-001

Description:  A close Class II spread towards the rim shows on the LIBE of LIBERTY.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die scratch runs south from the bottom right of the E in LIBERTY.  Several die scratches run SE from the left side of the D in GOD.  Reverse:  A small die gouge touches the right underside of the top of the 2nd S in STATES.

Comments:  This variety was originally listed as WDDO-013, but was reassigned due to the large gaps created in the listings with the identification of the doubled obverse working hub.










1968 1¢ WDDO-002          "Best Of" Variety

Description:  A CW spread from a pivot at approximately 2:00 shows on the letters of LIBERTY, IN GOD, and the date.  Slight doubling also shows on the date.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A long die scratch runs NNE from the top of the R in LIBERTY.  Reverse:  A small die gouge (dot) can be found to the right of the I in UNITED.
