Description:  Extra thickness shows on the date, the mint mark, and WE TRUST.  A notch can be seen on the bottom of the right leg of the R in TRUST.

Description:  Strong extra thickness and Class II separation shows on ONE CENT, USA, the lower left and lower right sides of the Memorial, and slightly on EPU and the designer’s initials.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  None noted.  Reverse:  A short strong die gouge runs north from the upper left of the N in UNITED.  Die scratches run WNW/ESE above the left end of the roof.  A small die gouge can be found to the left of the center of the N in CENT.

1999-D 1¢ WDDR-002

Description:  A strong partial extra column runs SSW/NNE through the pedestal curving north near the upper end between the statue’s feet and the 7th column.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  None noted.  Reverse:  Die pitting can be found just below the Memorial north of the right side of the T in CENT.  A small die gouge can be found inside the upper N in CENT.

1999-D 1¢ WDDR-003

Description:  Strong doubling shows on the left side of the 7th Memorial column.  A strong extra leg shows between the statue’s legs.  A weaker extra leg shows to the left of the statue’s right leg (viewer’s left).

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A strong die gouge can be found just below the G of GOD.  A die gouge can be found well east of Lincoln’s lower nose.  Two small die gouges can be found well north of the B in LIBERTY.  Reverse:  A small die gouge can be found touching the lower left T of UNITED.  A small die gouge can be found just above the top right side of the 2nd Memorial column.  Two small die gouges can be found north of the G in the designer’s initials.  A small die gouge can be found just east of the horizontal bar of the T in CENT.
