1938-D 5¢ WDDR-001          “Best Of” Variety

Description:  A close Class II spread can be seen on the letters of EPU while light Class VI extra thickness shows on USA and FIVE CENTS.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  None significant.  Reverse:  The reverse of this variety is also an over mint mark (OMM) variety that is listed in the Wexler OMM Files as 1938-D 5¢ WOMM-003.  It shows a D/S.  The diagonal curve of the S is seen inside the D while the bottom of the S is seen just below the D.
