Description:  S/S West

Die Markers:  Obverse: A small die gouge can be found just above the right side of the mint mark.  Reverse:  The reverse is a doubled die listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1968-S 25¢ Pr WDDR-001.  A strong Class I CCW spread shows on USA, EPU, QUARTER DOLLAR, and the wreath.

Comments:  CONECA lists the doubled die reverse but does not list the RPM.  The doubled die reverse is also in The Cherrypickers’ Guide where it is listed as FS-25-1968S-801 (027).  Again there is no mention of the RPM.  Values for these would be based on the doubled die variety.

1979-D 25¢ Damaged Mintmark Punch

Description: An apparent split lower serif is the result of a damaged mintmark punch. It is not a RPM.



1988-D 25¢ Damaged Mintmark Punch

Description: Apparent doubling to the east of the vertical bar is the result of a damaged mintmark punch.  It is not a RPM.  This damaged mint mark has also been identified on Lincoln cents where it is designated Damaged Mintmark Punch #3.
