Die Markers:  Obverse:  NW/SE die crack runs from the upper edge of the bust below the bow tie ending in the field to the left of the mintmark.  A series of small die gouges run SW from the rim left of the upper I of IN.  Die gouge running SE from bottom right edge of the W of WE.  Reverse:  Die scratches are seen in the field in the form of an X under ES of STATES.  Die gouge between the lower D of UNITED and S of STATES.

Description:  D/D North

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Die gouge at the edge of the nose.  Die gouge in the space between the top of the chin and the bottom of the lip.  Reverse:  Die scratches running W/E through the upper T of CENT; strongest on the left side.  Die scratch runs south from the lower C of CENT to the top left of the N of UNITED.  Small die gouge is seen in the field close to the left upper right leg of the N of UNITED.

Die Markers:  Obverse: Stage A:  Die scratches run N/S above the TY of LIBERTY and SW below the TY of LIBERTY.  Long die scratch runs south from the bottom of the R of LIBERTY.  Medium sized die gouge (dot) in the field above the right side of the bowtie.  Die scratches run west from the bow tie into the field.  Short die scratch is seen over the bow tie.  Die scratches at the neck.  Obverse Stage B:  Stage A markers are not crisp in Stage B.  Obverse C:  Microscopic die chips show on many areas as well as a general loss of crispness of image.  Reverse Stage A:  Strong N/S die scratch shows inside the lower E of ONE.  Die scratch runs south through the U of UNITED.  Die scratch runs NE from the top of the last T of TRUST.  Reverse Stage B:  Stage A markers are not as crisp in stage B.  Reverse Stage C:  The dot between the E & P of E.
