1950-D 10¢ WDDR-001          “Best Of” Variety

Description:  A very strong CCW spread on EPU, flame, most elements of the left side branch, left lower torch holder and most elements of the right side branch.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Die chip above the nostril.  Reverse:  Short die scratch south from the bottom right of the first S in STATES.  Die scratch from the right upper side of the mintmark east to the torch holder.

Submitted By:  Kevin Flynn (Upgraded coin courtesy of Joe Feld)

Cross References:  CONECA: 1-R-I, Cherrypickers: FS-10-1950D-801 (014)

Comments:  The first hubbing did not penetrate deep into the die as the doubling is centralized and does not extend to the lettering around the rim.
