1937 25¢ WDDO-001          “Best Of” Variety

Description:  A strong CCW spread from a pivot at about 2:00 shows on IGWT, LIBERTY, the date, the nose, the queue, and the eyelid.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A curving die scratch can be found below the TR in TRUST.  A die scratch runs SE from the upper right B in LIBERTY.  Circular die scratches can be found throughout the obverse.  Reverse:  None noted.

Description:  A CW spread from a pivot at about 12:00 shows on the date and slightly on IGWT.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die scratch runs NE from the queue just above the bow.  Reverse:  None noted.

Description:  A spread towards the east shows on IGWT increasing in spread as you move to the right.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  None noted.  Reverse:  Die scratches can be found above and below the branch north of the D in DOLLAR.

Description:  A close spread towards the east shows on IGWT.

1937 25¢ WDDR-001

Description:  A nice spread towards the center shows on USA, QUARTER DOLLAR, EPU, the outer wings, and the lower leaves and branch stems.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  None noted.  Reverse:  A die gouge can be found between the upper second R in QUARTER and the D in DOLLAR.  A short die scratch runs WSW from the branch stem above the D in DOLLAR.

1937 25¢ WDDR-002          “Best Of” Variety

Description:  Extremely strong Class VI extra thickness spread towards the center shows on USA, QUARTER DOLLAR, EPU, the outer wings, and the lower leaves and branch stems.  Class II separation shows on the branch ends with notches on several of the lower letters in USA.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Numerous SW/NE die scratches run through the date.  Reverse:  A die crack runs through the OLLAR  of DOLLAR to the left wing tip.  A die crack runs through the AM in AMERICA.  A die crack runs through the lower ES in STATES.  A die crack runs down the eagle’s right wing.  A horizontal die scratch can be found on the upper Q in QUARTER.
