2005-P 25¢ MN WDDO-001

Description:  Doubling shows on the underside of Washington’s earlobe.

Die Markers:  A small die gouge (dot) can be seen next to the neck to the right of the lower Y of LIBERTY.  Die scratches extend north from the top of the ribbon of the queue.  A die gouge (dot) shows to the left of the bottom of the state outline.

2005-P 25¢ MN WDDO-002

Description:  Doubling shows on the underside of Washington’s earlobe.

Die Markers:  Small die chips can be seen at the J of the designer’s initials.  A die crack extends down Washington’s nose.  No reverse die markers were noted.

2005-P 25¢ MN WDDO-003

Description:  Doubling shows on the underside of Washington’s earlobe.

Die Markers:  Obverse Stage A:  A die crack runs from the left tip of the bust west into the field.  A die crack runs through the upper designer’s initials.  A die gouge sits on the top of the R of QUARTER.  A strong die gouge can be found just below the bottom left vertical bar of the M in AMERICA.  Obverse Stage B:  The die crack from the left tip of the bust now arcs through the upper left U of QUARTER to the Q of QUARTER.  Reverse Stage A:  A small die gouge can be found between the bottom right side of the state outline and the center of the loon’s back.  Reverse Stage B:  A die crack extends from the top left tip of the state outline NW to the rim.

2005-P 25¢ MN WDDO-004

Description:  Doubling shows on the underside of Washington’s earlobe.

Die Markers:  A small die gouge (dot) can be seen to the right of the top of the N of IN.  A small die gouge (dot) can be found inside the U of TRUST.  Another small die gouge can be found to the left of the bottom of the Q in QUARTER.  A die crack extends through the upper designer’s initials.  A small die chip can be found near the front tip of the base of the bust.  Small die chips show on the bottom of the queue.  The reverse of this variety is a doubled die listed as 2005-P 25¢ MN WDDR-109.

2005-P 25¢ MN WDDO-005

Description:  Doubling shows on the underside of Washington’s earlobe.

Die Markers:  Obverse Stage A:  A die crack extends through the upper designer’s initials.  A die scratch extends WSW from the top of the O in OF.  Obverse Stage B:  A die crack extends across the base of the bust extends west into the field.  A die chip can be found on the base of the bust near the front tip of the bust.  A die chip can be found in the upper R of TRUST.  Reverse Stage A:  A small die gouge can be found in the field south of the outboard motor.  A small die gouge NNE of the upper right M of UNUM.  Reverse Stage B:  A new reverse is a doubled die listed as 2005-P 25¢ MN WDDR-141A.

2005-P 25¢ MN WDDO-006

Description:  Doubling shows on the underside of Washington’s earlobe.

Die Markers:  A small die gouge can be between the top of the R in QUARTER and the top of the D in DOLLAR.  A die crack connects the upper designer’s initials.  A heavy die scratch runs NW to SE through the A of MINNESOTA.  A die gouge can be found in the field below the two trees to the left of the state outline.

2005-P 25¢ MN WDDO-007

Description:  A partial extra earlobe can be found just below the bottom of the ear.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A small die gouge can be found at the rim above the E in AMERICA.  A die gouge can be found between the R and U in TRUST.  A die crack runs across the base of the bust and through the upper designer’s initials.  A die chip can be found on the base of the bust north of the right side of the T in QUARTER.  Reverse:  A small die gouge (dot) can be found between the tops of the two trees to the left of the state outline.  Two parallel die scratches run from WSW to ENE below the bottom left corner of the state outline.  A die gouge protrudes from the rim to the left of the ripples in the water.
