1947-D 25¢ WDDO-001

Description:  A spread towards the center shows on LIBERTY and slightly on IGWT, and the 7 in the date.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die scratch runs WNW/ESE below the B of LIBERTY.  A die crack runs across the base of the bust.  Reverse:  A die crack runs from the A in STATES down the eagle’s right wing and curves into the field ending above the first R in QUARTER.  A die crack runs through E PLURIBUS to the upper left wing and then down the left wing to the second A in AMERICA.

1947-D 25¢ WDDO-002

Description:  A CCW spread from a pivot at about 7:00 shows on the BERTY in LIBERTY.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A small die gouge can be found to the right of the bottom of the I in LIBERTY.  Reverse:  A die gouge touches the right underside of the first S in STATES.

1947-D 25¢ WDDR-001          “Best Of” Variety

Description:  Massive extra thickness spread towards the center shows on QUARTER DOLLAR, USA, EPU, the lower leaves and branches, and the lower wings of the eagle.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  None noted.  Reverse:  The reverse also has an RPM variety that is listed in the Wexler RPM Files as 1947-D 25¢ WRPM-003.  It is a D/D Tilted (Rotated).
