1950-D 25¢ WDDR-001          “Best Of” Variety

Description:  A strong spread to the east shows on the eagle’s talons, the lower leg feathers, the upper arrowhead, and the upper leaves of the wreath.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die scratch runs E/W below the LI in LIBERTY.  Reverse:  A short die gouge runs west from the bottom of the leave to the right center of the wreath.

1950-D 25¢ WDDR-002          “Best Of” Variety

Description:  Extremely strong extra thickness shows on USA, EPU, QUARTER DOLLAR, the wreath, and the eagle’s head.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die scratch runs ESE from the bottom of the I in LIBERTY.  A die crack runs east across the upper forehead extending into the hair.  A die crack runs across the base of the bust.  Reverse:  A diagonal die scratch can be found inside the upper D of DOLLAR.  A die crack runs down the eagle’s right wing.  A die crack can be found on the upper part of the eagle’s left wing.
