1959 25¢ Pr WDDO-001          “Best Of” Variety

Description:  Doubling shows as a very strong spread to the south on IGWT, the date, and the lower ribbon.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A short diagonal die scratch can be found on the cheek east of the bottom of the nose.  Reverse:  A small die gouge (dot) can be found on the lower wing feathers just to the right of the bottom of the eagle’s left leg.

1959 25¢ Pr WDDO-002          “Best Of” Variety

Description:  A strong spread towards the center along with extra thickness shows on LIBERTY, the hair on the back of the head, the queue, the ribbon, the designer’s initials, the date, and slightly on IN GOD WE TRUST.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A curling line that looks like a “struck through string” error can be found in the hair at the top of the head, but the curling line is raised indicating it was in the die.  Reverse:  A small die gouge (dot) can be found below the M of UNUM.

Description:  A close spread towards the center shows on the RTY of LIBERTY.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die scratch runs SW/NE between the R and T of LIBERTY.  A die scratch runs SW from the L in LIBERTY.  A die crack runs across the base of the bust.  Numerous other die scratches can be found throughout the obverse.  Reverse:  Type B reverse.

Description:  A close spread towards the center shows on QUARTER, the lower leaves, the ends of both branches, and the edges of the tail feathers.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Light die scratches run NNW/SSE between IGWT and the bust.  Reverse:  Type B reverse.  Die scratches run SSW/NNE between the lower left wing and the rim.
