1949 50¢ WDDO-001

Description:  A very close spread towards the center shows on LIBERTY and TRUST.

Die Markers:  Obverse Stage A:  Die scratches run SW/NE through the US in TRUST.  Horizontal die scratches can be found above the E in WE.  A die break can be found on the front of the bust below the one in the date.  Obverse Stage B:  Same as Stage A.  Reverse Stage A:  The reverse is a doubled die listed as 1949 50¢ WDDR-001.  A close spread towards the center shows on UNITED and HALF DOLLAR.   A die crack runs SSW from the left bell support through the lower right of the E in WE to the R in PLURIBUS.  A small die gouge can be found above the right side of the horizontal bar of the second L in DOLLAR.  Reverse Stage B:  New reverse die.  A small die gouge can be found to the left of the E in STATES.

Description:  A very close spread towards the center shows on LIBERTY and IGWT.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Die scratches run SSE from the lips and chin.  A small die chip can be found on the upper left of the E in WE.  Reverse:  A small die gouge can be found to the right of the upper T in UNITED.

Description:  Close tripling spread towards the center shows on the date, IGWT, and LIBERTY.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die gouge can be found to the right of the upper chin.  Reverse:  A die scratch runs NNE from the top of the I in PLURIBUS.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A short vertical die gouge can be found to the left of the top of the Y in LIBERTY.  Reverse:  A small die gouge can be found on the upper right of the D in UNITED.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  The obverse is a doubled die listed as 1949 50¢ WDDO-001.  A very close spread towards the center shows on LIBERTY and TRUST.  Die scratches run SW/NE through the US in TRUST.  Horizontal die scratches can be found above the E in WE.  A die break can be found on the front of the bust below the one in the date.  Reverse:  A die crack runs SSW from the left bell support through the lower right of the E in WE to the R in PLURIBUS.  A small die gouge can be found above the right side of the horizontal bar of the second L in DOLLAR.
