Reverse: The reverse is a doubled die listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1956 50¢ Pr WDDR-001. A strong Class VI spread towards the center shows on USA, HALF DOLLAR, EPU, and the eagle. A die chip can be found between the upper P and L of PLURIBUS. Die chips can be found between the eagle’s lower right wing feathers.

Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Short diagonal die scratch from the lower hair to the back of the neck. Die dot to the left center of the first T in TRUST. Obverse Stage B: Die chips (filled) between the lower and center bars and the upper bar to the rim of the E in LIBERTY. The Stage A die scratch, hair to neck, is polished away. Obverse Stage C: Die chips (filled) between all bars and the upper bar to the rim of the E in LIBERTY. Reverse Stage A: None noted. Reverse Stage B: A die scratch curves NE from the bottom right corner of the bell. Reverse Stage C: Same as Stage B.
