Die Markers: Obverse: NW/SE die scratches throughout the fields and design. Strong NW/SE die scratch from the neck to the 3 in the date. NE/SW die scratches through the RTY in LIBERTY. Die gouge in front of the nose. Die gouge above the 3 in the date. Reverse: Die clash remnants through the olive branch. Crisscrossing die scratches overlapping the clash from attempts to remove the marks. Die scratch extends S from the first T in STATES. Many curving die scratches between OF AMERICA and the oak branch. N/S die scratch between the E in EPU and the dot. Long die gouges between the NE and below the N in ONE. Die gouge above the I in DIME. Die gouge near the rim between the F in OF and the first A in AMERICA.

Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: First Obverse. Two die scratches south from the left lower side of the G of GOD to the right side of the W in WE. Die scratches NNE from the 9 in the date. Die scratch NNE from the upper inside of the 5 in the date and running through the top. ObverseStage B: Die scratches at GOD weaker. Die scratches at the date are abraded away except for the inside area of the 5. Die scratch die scratch SW from the tip of the nose running to the left lower side of the L in LINBERTY. Weak die crack above the nostril. ObverseStage C: All stage A markers are abraded away. Larger die chip on the nose. Weaker die scratch from the nose. ObverseStage D: Second Obverse. NNE/SSW die scratches left of the profile. NNE/SSW die scratches behind the neck. Reverse Stage A: Long ENE die scratch from the right center of the R in AMERICA that runs through the I and C. Small die gouge at the upper right inside area of the D in UNITED. Long die scratch south from the right lower oak leaf running along the right side of the N in UNUM to the M in DIME. Reverse Stage B: All stage A markers abraded away except for the gouge at the D in UNITED. Irregular die scratches through STATES. Reverse Stage C: Weaker die scratches at STATES. Gouge at the D in UNITED is weak. Die chip on the lower area of the first right hand olive leaf. Reverse Stage D: All previous markers abraded away except the chip on the olive leaf. NNE die scratch from the upper left oak leaf.
