Die gouge left of the R in LIBERTY. Die gouges left and right of the Y in LIBERTY. Reverse: Concentric die scratches on the rim above UNITED and OF. Many N/S die scratches through UNITED and the olive branches. NW/SE die scratches connect the ER in AMERICA. N/S die scratches between the M in UNUM and the dot. Long thin NNE/SSW die scratch to the right of the flame.

Die Markers: Obverse: Blunt 9. Strong NW/SW die scratches in the fields behind the head and above the date as well as in front of the head and below LIBERTY. Criss-crossing die scratches from the rim at 1 o'clock. Strong die scratches extend NW from IN GOD. Reverse: Many N/S die scratches throughout the fields. Strong NE/SW die scratch runs along the right side of the E in ONE and intersects the mint mark. Strong die scratch extends NE from the D in DIME. Strong die scratches extend NE from the first dot in EPU. Strong NE/SW die scratch runs from above the right side of the M in DIME, through the second U in UNUM, and to the oak leaves. N/S die scratch connects the E in DIME and the second U in UNUM. X-shaped die scratches between the top of the torch and the upper oak leaves.

Reverse: Many thin N/S die scratches throughout the fields. Long die scratch extends N from the E in ONE. Two short die scratches connect the lower acorn and the first U in UNUM. Thin, broken die scratch runs parallel to the bottoms of the RI in AMERICA. X-shaped die scratches connect the TA in STATES and the left most olive leaf in the upper leaves. Strong die scratch extends directly S from the first S in STATES. Strong die scratch extends NW from the P in PLURIBUS.
