Description: A circular arrangement of die gouges show below the right side of the upper grass strip between the great egret and the great blue heron.  

Die Markers: Obverse: A small die gouge can be found to the left of the lower D in DOLLAR. Reverse: A large die chip can be found under the eye of the great blue heron.

Comments: This die was previously listed as 2015-P 25¢ DE WDDR-053, but on examination of another example submitted by George W. Powell, Jr., it was determined not to be a doubled die. These small gouges do not match the shape of the grass strips, instead they seem to be in a repeating spiral pattern. It’s not a doubled die, but what is it? Is it related to the centrally located semi-circles and rings seen on cents and nickels of the 2010s?
