Description:  D/D Southwest

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Die scratches show running SSW from TY in LIBERTY.  Reverse:  Heavy die scratches run WNW/ESE through and under E PLURIBUS UNUM.  Die scratches run WNW/ESE above ONE and through C in CENT.

1978-D 1¢ WRPM-002  

Description:  D/D Tilted (Rotated)  

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Two very weak WNW/ESE die scratches are present between the 1 in the date and the bowtie.  A die gouge is present near the rim at about 2:30 and about level with the tip of the nose.  A small die gouge is present right of the E in WE.  A small die gouge is present at the bottom of the first T in TRUST.  Two small die gouges are present to the right of the bottom of the U in TRUST.  Small die gouge near the rim below the B in VDB.  NW/SE die scratch above the eye.  Reverse:  A weak die clash remnant is present in the third and fourth bays.  Old NW/SE die scratches are present throughout most of the reverse.  A large die gouge is present northeast of the FG.
