Description: 1/1/1883/1883/3. Triple repunching to the south on the top serif of the 1, repunching to the north on the 1 and 83, repunching west on the 3.

1883 5¢ V WRPD-005

Description: 1883/18. Repunching of the 18 shows south of the primary date. Repunching shows on the 3 of the date, which may be typical.

Die Markers: Obverse: Light die scratch from the right lower point of star L2, southeast to the forehead. Light die crack from the left side of star L1, through the star and through the bonnet to star R1. Very light die cracks running through stars R3 to R6. Reverse: No CENTS. Die crack south from the rim at 12:30 o'clock, turning east over the top of the second S of STATES, OF and turning north back to the rim at 1:30 o'clock. Die crack northwest from the first A in AMERICA intersects the crack at 1:30 o'clock. Die crack NE from the rim at about 9:00 o'clock, through UNITED and to the first S in STATES. Die crack at 10:30 o'clock south to the E in UNITED.

Description: 1883/1. Repunching of the 1 shows south of the primary 1 in the date.

Die Markers: Obverse: Die crack from the first left-hand lower star, through the point of the bust and turning SE through the I in the date to the rim at 6:00 o'clock. Reverse: No CENTS. Die crack through the upper letters of STATES. Die crack from the rim a 1:00 o'clock SE to OF and then through the upper letters.

Description: 1883/1. Repunching of the 1 shows south of the primary numeral.

Die Markers: Obverse: Die crack from the first left-hand lower star, through the point of the bust and turning SE through the 1 in the date through the bottom of the date to the rim. Die crack through the 2nd through 4th stars. Die crack from the rim through the 6th and 7th stars. Die crack from the grain below the 7th star extends to a die crack connecting the 7th and 8th stars. Die crack from the 10th through 13th stars reaches the rim where the die crack through the date does. Reverse: No CENTS. Die crack NW from the E in EPU. Die crack extends NW from the rim through the P in PLURIBUS. Die crack extends NE from the rim between the S in PLURIBUS and the first U in UNUM to the right side of the wreath. Die cracks through the tops of UNITED STATES. Die cracks between UNITED and STATES reach the rim. Die crack from the bottom left corner of the E in UNITED to the left side of the wreath.
