Description: Extremely close spread to the center shows on the date, strongest at the bottom of the 37.

Die Markers: Obverse: Short NE/SW die scratches at the throat. NE/SW die scratches on the upper lip and at the back of the mouth. NW/SE and E/W die scratches through the ribbon of the braid. Short die gouge extends N from the shoulder NW of the 1 in the date. Die gouge at the throat. Reverse: Thin, spiraling die scratches throughout the reverse most notably through EPU, FIVE CENTS, and the front legs of the bison. Strong die scratches extend S from the bison's face. Weak NW/SE die scratch above the E in STATES. Small die gouge below the E in UNITED.
