1958 1¢ WDDO-001 "Best Of" Variety Description: A very strong Class I CW spread shows on the letters of IGWT, LIBERTY, the date, Lincoln’s ear, the hair details, his eyelid, his bowtie, and the folds in the vest. Die Markers: Obverse: Three parallel die scratches run south from between the T and Y in LIBERTY. A short die scratch runs WNW to ESE below and between the O and D in GOD. A die scratch runs NNW to SSE between the T and R of TRUST. A short die scratch runs ESE from the upper right R of TRUST. Reverse: None noted. One specimen in MS64RD condition did sell for $150,000. The variety has been deemed genuine by officials of the U.S. Mint.
