1991 1¢ WDDO-001

Description:  Extra thickness shows on the date, especially the lower nines and IGWT.  The hair on the upper front of the head shows separation lines.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die gouge (dot) can be found in the field midway between the upper beard and the rim.  A die gouge (dot) can be found in the field midway between the nose and the rim.  A die gouge can be found to the right of the upper O in GOD.  Reverse:  A strong die gouge can be found to the right of the middle of the last column.  A die crack runs NNW from the left edge of the roof.  A die break (lump) can be found on the right end of the top of the left cornice.  A die gouge (dot) can be found midway between the 2nd A in AMERICA and the designer’s initials.

1991 1¢ WDDR-001         "Best Of" Variety

Description:  A Class V CW spread from a pivot near the rim at about 11:00 shows on the RICA of AMERICA, the lower right Memorial, the designer’s initials, and the letters of ONE CENT.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  None noted.  Reverse:  A die scratch runs from the bottom of the 1st T through the lower A in STATES.  Two short die gouges can be found at the rim above the upper left M in AMERICA with another to the right of those two.  A short die gouge can be found under the C in AMERICA.

1991 1¢ WDDR-002        "Best Of" Variety

Description:  Extra columns can be found in bays 9, 10, and 11.  Partial extra columns can be found in bays 3, 4, and 8.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A small die gouge touches the upper back of the neck.  Reverse:  A die gouge touches the center left side of the T in CENT.

1991 1¢ WDDR-003

Description:  Doubling shows on the lower left side of the 7th Memorial column to the right of the statue’s lower legs.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die gouge can be found south of the BE in LIBERTY.  A strong die gouge can be found to the left of the bottom of the U in TRUST.  A die gouge can be found above the left side of the 2nd 9 in the date.  Reverse:  A vertical die gouge can be found at the top of the 9th bay.

Description:  Extra columns appear in the first two Memorial bays.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die gouge can be found above the E in LIBERTY.  A small die gouge can be found inside the upper loop of the 1st 9.  A small die gouge can be found just below the upper loop of the 2nd 9.  Reverse:  A die scratch extends north from the roof of the Memorial through the left side of the 1st U of UNUM and the right side of the P of PLURIBUS.

Description:  Partial extra Memorial columns can be found in the 2nd, 3rd, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th Memorial bays.  The doubling is strongest in the lower second bay.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  None significant.  Reverse:  None significant.

1991 1¢ WDDR-008          "Best Of" Variety

Description:  Extra Memorial columns can be found to the right of columns 8, 9, 10, and 11.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A small die gouge can be found south of the 1st 9.  Reverse:  A short, diagonal die gouge can be found near the rim between the N and I of UNITED.  A die crack runs from the tip of the left cornice WNW to the rim passing just to the right of the I in UNITED.  A die gouge touches the top of the O in OF.  Die gouges can be found to the right of the center of the T in CENT.  A die crack runs from the left tip of the base of the bust to the rim.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die gouge can be found to the left of the lower 1st 9 in the date.  Reverse:  A short die gouge protrudes from the rim to the right of the D in UNITED.
