Description:  Strong extra thickness shows on the date, LIBERTY, and IGWT.

Description:  Notches show on the lower letters of ONE CENT.  Extra thickness shows on the designer’s initials.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A small die gouge can be found near the vest to the left of the bottom of the mint mark.  Reverse:  A die gouge can be found between the Memorial and the top of the O in ONE.

Description:  Doubling shows at an angle on the top right side of the fifth Memorial column.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  None noted.  Reverse:  A die gouge can be found between the left cornice and the I in UNITED.  Die gouges can be found south of the first S in STATES and to the left of the E in EPU.  A die gouge can be found near the bottom of the fifth Memorial bay.

Description:  Partial extra columns can be found in the 8th, 9th, and 10th Memorial bays.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  None determined.  Reverse:  A die gouge can be found on the left Memorial base south of the first Memorial bay.

Comments:  The specimen examined was a circulation find with some soiling problems.  A better grade coin may yield additional die markers.






1992-D 1¢ WDDR-004          "Best Of" Variety

Description:  Partial extra columns can be found in the 2nd and 3rd Memorial bays.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A short, diagonal die scratch can be found above the N of IN.  Reverse:  EDS.  A short, nearly vertical die scratch can be found to the right of the center of the F in OF.
