1995-D 1¢ WDDO-001         "Best Of" Variety

Description:  A  Class V CW spread from a pivot at about 12:00 shows on the date, the mint mark, the front folds of the vest, and also on the letters of LIBERTY.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Die gouge SE of the mint mark.  Small die gouge just NW of the N of IN.  Reverse:  Die gouge above the Memorial roof SSE of the S in PLURIBUS.

1995-D 1¢ WDDO-002

Description:  A close Class V CCW spread from a pivot at about 1:00 shows on IN GOD, LIBERTY, the lower folds in the vest, the mint mark, and on the left side of the digits in the date.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A long die scratch runs from the field behind the head upward to the rim passing to the left of IN.  A small die gouge (dot) can be found near the rim to the left of the die scratch.  Reverse:  Several NW/SE die scratches run through the TED of UNITED.

1995-D 1¢ WDDO-003         "Best Of" Variety

Description:  A strong Class V CCW spread from a pivot at about 8:00 shows on the letters of IGWT, all of the upper hair details, the ear, the eyelid, the date, and the mint mark.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Die gouge (dot) on the center of the neck.  Short, diagonal die gouge south of the ER in LIBERTY.  Reverse:  None noted.

1995-D 1¢ WDDO-004

Description:  A very close spread to the north shows on the LIBE of LIBERTY, the 5 in the date, and the bottom of the mint mark.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  None noted.  Reverse:  Short die scratch NNW from the upper left side of the 1st Memorial column.  Die scratch NE from the upper center of the diagonal bar of the N in CENT to the top right side of the N.

1995-D 1¢ WDDO-005

Description:  A Class II spread towards the rim shows on the date, the mint mark, the BERTY of LIBERTY, and as extra thickness to IGWT, especially the E in WE.  The lower right R of TRUST shows close tripling.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A small die gouge (dot) can be found south of the B in LIBERTY.  Reverse:  A light die scratch runs parallel to the rim through the lower UN in UNITED extending to the O in ONE.

1995-D 1¢ WDDO-006         "Best Of" Variety

Description:  A Class V CCW spread from a pivot at about 12:00 shows on LIBERTY, the lower bust, the mint mark, the date, and the lower beard details.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Die crack runs north to south behind Lincoln’s ear.  Die crack from top center of forehead NNW through hair.  Reverse:  None noted.

1995-D 1¢ WDDO-007

Description:  A close Class V CCW spread frpm a pivot at about 9:00 shows on WE TRUST, and slightly on the date and mint mark.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Two nearly horizontal die scratches just above the hair SW of the 1st T in TRUST.  Die gouge (dot) above the E in LIBERTY.  Reverse:  None noted.

1995-D 1¢ WDDR-001

Description:  A very close spread towards the center shows on ONE CENT mostly as notches on the upper N of CENT.  The designer’s initials show extra thickness as do the bushes on the right Memorial base.  Some notching shows on the lower letters of STATES OF AMERICA and EPU.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  None noted.  Reverse:  A small die gouge (dot) can be found midway between the bottom of the 2nd U in UNUM and the top of the Memorial.  A small die gouge can be found inside the C of AMERICA.  A heavy die scratch extends west-southwest from the bottom of the Memorial under the 10th column.

1995-D 1¢ WDDR-002

Description:  A strongly tilted partial column is seen protruding from the right side of the sixth Memorial column to the left of the statue’s right knee (viewer’s left).

Die Markers:  Obverse:  None noted.  Reverse:  A small die gouge (dot) can be found below and between the I and T of UNITED.  A die gouge (dot) can be found to the left of the center of the O in ONE.  Another die gouge (dot) appears in the upper inside of the O of ONE.  A die gouge (dot) can be found to the right of the horizontal crossbar of the T in CENT.  A die gouge (dot) can be found just to the right of the last Memorial column almost midway up from the bottom of the column.

1995-D 1¢ WDDR-003

Description:  A partially doubled 8th Memorial column shows the doubling on the upper right side of the column.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Small die gouges (dots) can be found to the right of the bottom of the 2nd 9 and to the right of the top of the mint mark.  Reverse:  A small die gouge (dot) can be found to the right of the bottom of the 2nd A in AMERICA.  A die gouge can be found just above the designer’s initials.  A horizontal die scratch can be found on the roof of the Memorial north of the 5th and 6th columns.  A small die gouge can be found inside the lower R of AMERICA.

Description:  A partial extra Memorial column can be found at the top of the 10th Memorial bay.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Die gouges can be found between the upper G and O of GOD.  A small die gouge can be found above the left side of the B I LIBERTY.  A die gouge can be found to the right of the bottom of the 2nd T in TRUST.  Reverse:  A die gouge can be found below the right side of the R in AMERICA.  A short die scratch runs from the top of the C in AMERICA to the rim.

Description:  An extra Memorial column can be found in the 11th Memorial bay.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A pre-die break depression can be found on the left side of the T in LIBERTY.  A die gouge can be found SE of the 2nd T in TRUST.  A die scratch runs SE from the bottom of the chin to the 1 in the date.  Reverse:  Die pitting can be found to the right of the last Memorial column.  A die gouge can be found above the right base of the Memorial.  A die gouge can be found below the right end of the horizontal bar of the T in CENT.  A die gouge touches the lower right side of the 1st U in UNUM.

1995-D 1¢ WDDR-006

Description:  A partial extra Memorial column can be found in the 5th Memorial bay.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Two strong die gouges show inside the second nine in the date.  A die gouge extends from the rim at approximately 3:30.  Three small die gouges (dots) extend north above Lincoln’s bowtie with the top one just touching Lincoln’s lower chin.  Reverse:  A small die gouge (dot) shows just above the second step on the left Memorial base.  A small die gouge can be found to the right of the lower I in UNITED.  Die damage runs to the rim above the second A in AMERICA.
