1927 1¢ WDDO-001          "Best Of" Variety

Description:  A very nice Class I CW spread shows on the date, LIBERTY, and the letters of IGWT.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A series of short die scratches running NW to SE can be seen above the letters of WE TRUST.  A light die scratch runs NNW from the top of the 2 in the date.  A series of north to south die scratches can be seen between the O and D of GOD.  Reverse:  A die scratch runs NW to SE inside the lower section of the O in OF.

Description:  A very strong extra eyelid shows well SE of the main eyelid.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A short die scratch runs SSW to NNE just to the right of the lower D in GOD.   Reverse:  A die scratch runs north to south between the lower E and R of AMERICA.  Another short die scratch can be found between the lower first S and T of STATES.

Description:  A strong extra eyelid shows well SE of the main eyelid.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A horizontal die gouge runs through the upper first T in TRUST.   Reverse:  Two parallel die scratches run NE from the top of the C in AMERICA to the bottom of the second T in STATES.  A short die scratch runs SW from the bottom of the C in AMERICA.  A short die scratch runs SW/NE to the left of the bottom of the T in CENT.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Intact O in GOD.  Die gouge well above E in LIBERTY.  A die scratch under the chin runs NE/SW.  A die scratch runs SE from the upper lip.  Reverse:  Two parallel die scratches run NE/SW inside the lower N in CENT.  Short die scratches run vertically inside the upper E and T in CENT.  A small die gouge (dot) is present above E in STATES.  A small die gouge is present left of the upper O in OF.  A small die scratch is present inside the lower E in AMERICA.
