Description:  A tilted extra roof line can be found at the top of the 6th Memorial bay.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A small die gouge can be found at the top right of the 8 in the date.  Reverse:  A short die gouge runs west from the lower 4th column.  A small die gouge can be found to the left of the center of the C in CENT.  A small die gouge can be found to the right of the center of the T in CENT.

1998-D 1¢ WDDR-002

Description:  Doubling shows on the central left side of the 7th Memorial column to the right of the statue.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  None significant.  Reverse:  A die gouge runs SW from the left cornice.  A small die gouge can be found inside the C in CENT.  A die chip can be found on the upper left of the T in CENT.

1998-D 1¢ WDDR-003

Description:  Remnants of a partial extra column at a 45 degree angle from the horizontal run through the top of the pedestal.  Possible remnants of a partial extra column at the same angle can be seen at the top of the 6th bay.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Die gouges can be seen above the E and the R of LIBERTY.  Reverse:  A die scratch runs from the upper right N of UNITED to the rim.  A die dent runs from the rim above the 2nd S of STATES to the S of PLURIBUS.

1998-D 1¢ WDDR-004

Description:  A strong slanted partial extra column runs through the left side of the statue.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die gouge can be found between the upper L and I of LIBERTY.  A die gouge can be found below the right side of the N of IN.  Reverse:  A die gouge can be found inside the lower C of AMERICA.  A die gouge can be found to the right of the bottom of the last Memorial column.  A die gouge extends ENE from the bottom right side of the first column.

1998-D 1¢ WDDR-005          “Best Of” Variety

Description:  Partial extra columns can be found in bays 2, 3, and 9.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A small die gouge (dot) can be found to the right of the front curl of hair.  Reverse:  A short die scratch runs north from the top right of the C in AMERICA.  A die gouge can be found to the left of the top of the O in ONE.

1998-D 1¢ WDDR-006         "Best Of" Variety

Description:  A strong Class I CW spread can be found on the Memorial building.  Doubling shows on the underside of the left side of the Memorial and above the right side of the Memorial.  Extra columns can be found in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 9th, 10th, and 11th Memorial bays.  The extra columns are slanted at an angle consistent with the CW rotation.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Parallel die scratches run from NW to SE through the TRU of TRUST.  A die gouge can be found below the 2nd 9 in the date.  Reverse:  A die gouge can be found between the lower M and E in AMERICA.  A die gouge can be found below the right end of the bottom of the Memorial.  A die gouge touches the lower left side of the diagonal bar of the N in CENT.  A die scratch runs from NNW to SSE in the upper last bay of the Memorial.

1998-D 1¢ WDDR-007         "Best Of" Variety

Description:  Extra columns can be found in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 9th, 10th, and 11th Memorial bays.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die gouge shows on Lincoln’s vest at the level of the lower 1 in the date.  Reverse:  A die gouge shows just left of the lower second A in AMERICA.  A die gouge shows just under the left side of the second A in AMERICA.

Description:  Bar extended from the top of the hand to upper leg to the left of the statue on the sixth column.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Note noted.  Reverse:  A die chip can be found to the left of the upper R and inside the lower E in AMERICA.  A die chip can be found to the left of the memorial base about two thirds of the way toward the rim.  A die chip can be found to the left of the middle of the first memorial column at the level of U in UNITED.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Stage A:  Die chip above N in IN.  Die chip above mint mark.  Die chip inside lower 9 in the date.  Stage B:  New obverse die.  Die chip under 1 in the date.  Die chip on jacket fold northwest of VDB.  Horizontal die chip above B in LIBERTY.  Die chip centered under US in TRUST.  Reverse:  Stage A:  Die chips can be found above the center and to the right of the lower N in ONE.  A die chip can be found below the right memorial base.  A die chip can be found to the left of the upper U of UNITED.  Stage B:  Stage A markers all worn but visible.  A die chip can be found inside the lower E in AMERICA just touching the middle horizontal bar.  A die chip can be found right of column 12 about a third of the way from the top.
