Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: A small die gouge can be found to the left of the upper 1 in the date. A die gouge runs from WNW to ESE through the hair above the forehead. A die scratch runs from the center of the E in WE through the upper TR of TRUST. Obverse Stage B: The die scratch through WE TRUST is no longer visible. Reverse Stage A: Many die scratches run through EPU and ONE CENT. Reverse Stage B: The die scratches are now very weak or missing.
Comments: The variety illustrated as 1945-D 1¢ WDDO-005 in The Authoritative Reference on Lincoln Cents – 2nd Edition turned out to be Stage A of WDDO-001. The two listings have been combined.

Die Markers: Obverse: The mint mark is punched high (near the 9) and slightly rotated. Two die gouges can be found on the nose below the extra eyelid. Reverse: A die gouge can be found NE of the 2nd S in STATES. A die crack runs down the right side of the T in CENT.

Description: A Class II spread towards the center shows on the lower right wheat ear and stem and slightly on the left wheat stem.
Die Markers: Obverse: The obverse of this variety is an RPM listed in the Wexler RPM Files as 1945-D 1¢ WRPM-013. It is a D/D Southwest. A die crack runs NE from the hair behind Lincoln’s ear runs through the upper ear intersecting a die crack that runs from WSW to ENE through the hair and upper back of the forehead and then turns NE through the hair above the front of the forehead and extending to the 1st T of TRUST. Reverse: A die scratch runs from SW to NE to the left of the E in EPU. A die scratch runs from the bottom of the U in UNITED SE to the upper left O in OF. A short die scratch runs north from the top of the D in UNITED. A short die scratch runs from SW to NE to the left of the lower 1st S in STATES.
