1929-S 1¢ WDDO-001

Description:  A spread to the SSE shows on the upper 1 and 9 of the date.  Some minor doubling on the letters of IGWT and LIBERTY is master die doubling.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  This variety also has a nice repunched mintmark (RPM) which is an S/S East.  The RPM is listed in the Wexler RPM Files as 1929-S 1¢ WRPM-003.  A short die crack runs west to east inside the lower R of TRUST.  Two short die scratches extend north from the top of the horizontal bar of the L in LIBERTY.  A die scratch runs NW from the upper left side of the first 9 in the date touching the upper right tip of the 1 in the date.  Two parallel die scratches run NW to SE below the mintmark.  Two parallel die scratches run NW from the upper left 2 in the date.  Two parallel die scratches run SW from the upper and lower left side of the 1 in the date.  Reverse:  A die crack runs from the right wheat ear SSE to the rim at about 4:00.
