Description:  A minor extra eyelid can be found directly under the normal eyelid.

Die Markers:  Obverse Stage A:  A die gouge protrudes from the lower back of the head.  Obverse Stage B:  The Stage A die gouge is very weak but still visible.  Reverse Stage A:  A die scratch runs west from the top of the O in OF.  Reverse Stage B:  New reverse die.  A die scratch runs ENE from the C to the top of the second A in AMERICA.

Description:  Extra eyelids can be found directly under the normal eyelid and above the eyelid.  Very slight doubling towards the center shows on GOD WE TRUST.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Die clash marks can be found to the right of the throat and to the left of the back of the neck.  Reverse:  A die scratch runs from the upper E to the upper D in UNITED.

Description:  Extra eyelids can be found directly under the normal eyelid and above the eyelid.  Very slight doubling towards the center shows on GOD WE TRUST.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Parallel die scratches run SW from the lower letters of IN.  Reverse:  The reverse is a minor doubled die listed as 1946 1¢ WDDR-004.  A very close spread towards the center shows on the upper left wheat lines, the E in EPU, and the left dot.  A die scratch runs south from the bottom right of the D in UNITED to the top of the M in AMERICA.

1946 1¢ WDDO-004          “Best Of” Variety

Description:  Extremely thick date plus strong extra thickness to LIBERTY and IGWT.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A short, diagonal die scratch can be found above the E in LIBERTY.  A small die gouge (dot) can be found below the Y in LIBERTY.  Reverse:  The reverse is a minor doubled die listed as 1946 1¢ WDDR-007.  A CW spread shows on the upper left wheat lines, EPU, and both dots from a pivot at about 5:00.  A die gouge (dot) can be found between the upper E and S in STATES.

Description:  Extra thickness and spread toward the rim shows on the date and IN GOD WE TRUST.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Numerous die scratches run mostly ESE/WNW through the date and TRUST.  Die scratch runs NE from upper forehead ending just below and to the right of U in TRUST.  Diagonal die scratch runs across the upper ear.  Die clash from under the chin south to the bowtie.  Reverse:  Long die scratch runs SSW from lower left O in ONE through C in CENT and N in UNITED to O in OF.  Die clash present in C in CENT.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die scratch runs SW/NE to the left of the back of the head.  A die scratch runs WSW/ENE south of the 4 in the date.  Reverse:  A short die gouge runs WNW from the top left of the C in CENT.  A short die gouge runs SW from the top right of the C in CENT.

Description:  A CCW spread from a pivot at about 6:00 shows on IGWT.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A vertical die clash mark shows at the front of the throat.  A vertical die scratch mark can be found to the right of the lower chin.  Reverse:  The reverse has doubling from the doubled working hub listed as 1946 1¢ WWHR-001.  A spread towards the center shows on the lower half of the left wheat ear and the left wheat stem.  A die scratch runs WSW/ENE south of the RIC in AMERICA.  A die scratch runs ENE from the right side of the T in CENT.  Numerous other die scratches run mostly WSW/ENE throughout the reverse.

Description:  An extra eyelid shows southeast of the primary eyelid.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Two parallel die scratches run roughly northwest from the back of the head, one left of G and one through right side of O in GOD.  A curving die scratch is present on the lower jacket fold.  A die crack runs across the bust above V.D.B.  Reverse:  Strong die scratches show through and under EPLU in E PLURIBUS UNUM.

Description:  A counterclockwise spread shows on the date and IN GOD WE TRUST from a pivot at about 9:00.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Two short strong die scratches run northwest from the shoulder below TY in LIBERTY.  Strong die scratch NNW from the lapel to the right upper Y in LIBERTY.  Parallel die scratches inside ear.  Strong die clash mark from lower chin to bowtie.  Possible die clash behind the hairline.  Reverse:  Numerous die scratches are present inside O in ONE and CE in CENT.
