1947 1¢ WDDO-001          "Best Of" Variety

Description:  A Class I CW spread shows on the letters of IGWT, the date, LIBERTY, Lincoln’s eyelid, the front curl of hair, and the front of Lincoln’s coat.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  None significant.  Reverse:  Die scratch ENE from the center inside of the left side of the O in ONE.  Die scratch SW to NE below the 2nd A in AMERICA.  Numerous light die scratches SW to NE through the letters of USA.

Description:  An extra eyelid shows just south of the primary eyelid.  Very slight doubling potentially on the lower right inside of the ear.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Two die gouges in the field are present well south of T in LIBERTY.  Die gouge is present just left of the back of the neck.  A very worn concentric die scratch runs above IN GOD WE TRUST.  Reverse:  A small die gouge shows well south of the F in OF.  A die crack is present on the right side of the lower T in CENT.

1947 1¢ WDDO-007         "Best Of" Variety

Description:  A Class IV spread to the south shows on the bottom of the inside of the ear, the top of the bowtie, the eyelid, the top of the 9, the TRU in TRUST, and the D in GOD.  An additional partial extra eyelid can be seen east of the normal eyelid.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  None significant.  Reverse:  None significant.

1947 1¢ WDDO-008

Description:  Two extra eyelids can be found below the normal eyelid.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die scratch runs from north to south below the front of the chin.  Numerous rotational die scratches can be found throughout the obverse.  Reverse:  A die scratch twists SW from the bottom of the 2nd T in STATES through the C in AMERICA.  Other die scratches can be found throughout the reverse.

Description:  An extra eyelid can be found below the normal eyelid.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die scratch runs WSW/ENE between the lower E in WE and the first T in TRUST.  Reverse:  A small die gouge (dot) can be found below the top left of the T in CENT.

Description:  Extremely strong extra thickness shows on EPU, dots, both wheat ears and stems, USA, and the left side of C in CENT.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Die scratch SSW from back of head to left of center of ear.  Reverse:  Die scratch NW to SE through the upper right F in OF.  Die scratch SW from bottom center of E in STATES.  Die scratch ENE from upper right N in ONE.  Die gouge (dot) near top right wheat stem south of the second A in AMERICA.
