A vertical die scratch can be found to the left of Washington’s lips. Two short, strong die gouges run west from the eyelid. Numerous other die scratches can be found on the obverse. Reverse: WDDR-004. A spread to the west from an offset and tilted hub can be found on STATES OF AMERICA, the branch ends, the right branch and lower right leaves, DOLLAR, and the letters of EPU with the strongest spread on the letters farthest to the right. A strong die scratch runs south from the top right of the E in STATES. E/W die gouges, that may be tooling marks, through ERIC of AMERICA and PLURIBUS.
