1971-S $1 Pr WDDO-001

Description:  Strong Class II tripling spread towards the center shows on IGWT, LIBERTY, and the date.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Peg Leg R.  A small die gouge can be found to the left of the R in LIBERTY.  Reverse:  Two small die gouges can be found on the top left of the E in AMERICA.  A die scratch runs NW from the upper left I in AMERICA.  A die gouge can be found to the right of the top of star #13.

Comments:  This variety was once listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1971-S $1 Pr WDDO-072 but was reassigned when a large number of the original listings were found to be the product of doubled working hubs.

Description:  Class II Tripling spread towards the center shows on the date, IGWT, and LIBERTY.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Peg Leg R.  Short, diagonal die scratches can be found inside the O of GOD.  A light die scratch runs south from the top right of the 2nd T in TRUST to the top of the 1st 1 in the date.  Light die pitting can be found to the right of the lower E in WE.  Reverse:  The reverse is a doubled die listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1971-S $1 Pr WDDR-011.

1971-S $1 Pr WDDO-017

Description:  A Class V CCW spread from a pivot at 7:00 shows on LIBERTY and slightly on IN, the TR of TRUST, and the date.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Peg Leg R.  Short, diagonal die scratches can be found inside the O of GOD, to the right of the bottom of the G in GOD, and between the bottoms of the T and R in TRUST.  A small die gouge (dot) can be found on the left side of the upper ear.  Reverse:  The reverse is a doubled die listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1971-S $1 Pr WDDR-015.
